It's time again for the Dude runs like a Princess 1k fundraising event in Frederick, MD. The Princesses will do one lap around the bell tower in Baker Park decked out in their finest princess gear (tiara, gloves, makeup, jewelry, heels, wigs, etc) sponsored by their friends and family. There will be prizes awarded for First, Second and Third place, plus best dressed!
If you are not familiar with this event please see the recap below from last year's hilarious event.
Important change from last year: Dude runs like a Princess participants will provide their own items. No items will be provided by the organizers.

Our aim was to have fun, laugh, and dress up in an event that Sophie and Madigan would have absolutely loved. And we did all this and more on February 8 when 37 princesses put on their tiaras and tutus, and braved the cold weather for a 1k run through Baker Park in Frederick, Maryland.
Picture men of all ages running in items of clothing that were princess inspired and had been donated by family and friends to raise money for, and celebrate, Sophie and Madigan and the memorial playground that will be built in their honor.
What a cool example our men set, real men wear pink (and sometimes heels). Community and friends came out in full force, from sponsoring princess accessories to staying up all night making pink and blue tutus. All for Sophie and Madigan's playground, how awesome is our community!!!
This event appealed to the masses. The men who were running wanted to win; the sponsors of the items wanted to make the runners look silly and create laughter; the kids (many of whom put the make up on their dudes) laughing and cheering with excitement; and the spectators enjoying an event that was full of silliness.
And the princesses got a little competitive. They wanted to make their sponsors proud and they wanted to win. Grand prize winners were:
First Place - Bryan Nolan
Second Place - Keith Morris
Third Place - David Record
First Place Junior Princess - Damian Qualls
Best Dressed - Jack Lillard and Jeremy Morris
Thank you to all the princesses, princess sponsors, and organizers Jennifer Record and Kristin Rinker for an unforgettable event that raised almost $5,000 for Sophie and Madigan's Playground!
